The history of Sue Son Leb Pier
From the story of dynasties, this pier was built in 1782 during the reign of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (Rama I), but at that time it belonged to one of twenty-two forts along the Chao Phraya River. After that, in 1893, during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), the French Navy came to attack Thailand. French Navy ships fought with the Sue Son Leb Fort and other Thai forts, but the French Navy ships beat the Thai defense forces so they anchored near the Grand Palace. After this battle the Sue Son Leb Fort was not in use to protect the city anymore.
In 1952, during the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), the RTNA was built on the location of the Sue Son Leb Fort, and they built a pier in this Academy and named this pier after the Sue Son Leb Fort to remember the old fort which used to protect the country.
