The RTNA Hospital was built on 15 December 1954. It provides 15 beds for naval cadets.
Operated by Lieutenant Sipanar Thamrathophorn.


The RTNA Hospital gives healthcare according to its vision and mission.
VISION It is the vision of the RTNA Hospital "to prepare naval cadets to become effective Navy officers to serve the Royal Thai Navy".
MISSION The mission through the following:
Responsible administrators and gives care to naval cadets, members of the government, employees and their family, including civilians.
· Give knowledge and public health to people in responsible area, such as how to protect themselves from hemorrhagic fever when rain is coming.
· Encourage efficiency of naval cadets and staff of the RTNA.
· The RTNA Hospital will consider the healthcare requirements of the community, with specialized needs.
· Work fulfilment of such aspiration in order to help achieve the mission of the RTNA and the Naval Medical Department.

The hospital consists of 6 sections.

1 The Medical Records & Patient Relations Services

Lieutenant Sipanar Thamrathophorn is a doctor in the Patient Relations Services.



In the office of the Patient Relations Services.

Records student and patient histories. Manages all new-old patient cards. Remedy in the science of healing, surgical operations and body checks.
There are about 40-50 per day patients on average. The majority of naval cadets are treated for muscle injuries caused by sports. If it's a serious injury or hard to treat because equipment isn’t available, they will send patients to Somdejphapinkloa hospital.

2 X-ray rooms

The X-ray machine



The Hospital offers complete treatments for basic bone- and joint-related ailments. They have modern equipment.

The X-ray machine uses very new technology, the same as machines in famous hospitals. Rugby players often use this room.

3 Laboratory Testing

Blood testing machine

Checks your blood to find abnormal cells and to analyse everything chemically. Before naval cadets will go on sea training they have to have their blood checked. If it’s abnormal the doctor must cure that patient immediately.


4 Physiotherapy Department

Treatment with massage.

Physiotherapy equipment just offers basic physiotherapy. Conditions treated in our clinic include: back and neck pain, sciatica, sports and dance injuries, work related upper limb disorders, postural problems, knee disorders, shoulder injuries, joint and muscle problems. Treatment and techniques used include exercise prescription, posture correction and massage. Specifically half of the rugby, football and athletics cadets passed through this department.


5 Pharmacy

The pharmacist checks quantity of medicines.

The Hospital has all medicines. They usually check quantity of medicines and keep in clean store and appropriate atmosphere. Naval cadets usually require medicine for muscle pain and illness.

6 Dental Department




The dentist crowning a bad tooth.

Dentistry including filling, extraction, crowning, polishing and fluoride treatment.

They can treat about 10 patients per day. If a patient has a difficult problem or there is not enough equipment such as to operate on or treat a root canal, the dentist will consider sending the patient to Somdejphrapinklao Hospital or the Bangkok Naval Hospital.

Instructions



When you are sick, follow these instructions.

Step 1
Sign your name in the sickness book at the battalion before 7 am every day.

Step 2
Go to hospital after 8 o’clock. Don’t forget to bring your hospital ID card.

Step 3
Tell your symptoms and present your hospital ID card to reception.

Step 4
You will be given a waiting list number from reception then wait to see the doctor.

Step 5
After the doctor finishes your treatment you will go to cashier and give your history book. They will calculate your fee.

Step 6
Receive your medicine and advise with pharmacist.

Interview Dentist

Lieutenant Sorraphat Ponlatorn is a dentist.
She graduated from Chulalongkorn University.
Interview on 17 November 2008.

Why did you become a dentist?
- I love to help other people and my father an Admiral in the Navy.

Have you worked as a dentist for a long time?
-I have worked for 2 years since I graduated from CU. I have to work here because I used a government scholarship while I was studying.


What do you think of naval cadets?
- Naval cadets who graduate from the RTNA will serve the Navy as main officers.

What are your working principles?
-Be a calm and neat person and help everyone without prejudice.


Can you give some advice to keep our teeth healthy?
-Brush you teeth at least twice a day, check your teeth every 6 months and see a dentist when you have a problem with your teeth.
