gymnasium 1

Location
In the RTNA, there are two gymnasiums. They were built before 1970. There are in the north of our school. The gymnasiums are next to the football field and near the swimming pool. Because the Royal Thai Naval Academy is located in a plain near the Chao Phraya River, in the rainy season it can be flooded. Thus, they built the gymnasiums higher off the ground, about 1 meter high.

Mission
Missions of the RTNA gymnasiums are training naval cadets for competitions and physical training for a good health and enthusiasm of sports for the new officers in the Navy. The physical test is an activity that we do to check response and health of the naval cadets. We usually do it one time a month.

Cadet : What is the new mission of the Physical Department?
Officer : Every morning we have to come to school to teach naval cadets about seamanship, such as naval flags, Morse signals and swimming.

Cadet : What do you think about military sport?
Officer : I think you must assign the cadets to the sport for which they have talent; it will have the best result.
