Building 6 Classrooms

building 6

Building 6 faces Sukumvit Road. It is between Building 5 and gymnasium 2. If you play football you will see it because it is next to the football field. Building 6 was built in 1994 and finished in 1999. This place serves the cadets. There are five floors in this building.
There are many classrooms in this building for every naval cadet. The first floor in the front is used for physics and chemistry. When you go inside the building you can see Capt. Jaroon's statue, classroom and labs on the left and a museum on the right where many old engines are collected for students to study. The labs that I told you about are in the back of the building. Because this building has many stairs there is a lift in the middle of the building. On the second floor is the Marine Engineering Department and thermal and metal labs. Anyway we use some labs as the classroom.

Statue

Statue of Captain Jaroon

Captain Jaroon

He was the first engineering teacher and taught engineering subjects to students. He did not work in class but his class was on the ship. The subject that he taught was main engine air-conditioning systems. The reason why they built the statue is a memory for him who died on duty, Capt. Jaroon the great teacher.

Lift

This building has only one lift. The lift can be used by officers and other people, but cadets can not because cadets are strong men.

Fluid Lab

fluid lab

This lab is the fluid-lab where you learn about properties of water, air and oil. The marine engineer must understand them. There are two universities with a marine engineering department in thailand and the RTNA was the first, so this room has a lot of expensive equipment and is very important.

Metal Lab

metal lab

Metal lab

We use this lab to study properties of metal. Properties such as hardness, stress and strain. In this room there is a lot equipment that is used in the metal education, such as a metal hardness testing machine etc. Some labs can record the data on a computer that makes the student understand it easier. Everything here is used for the education of marine engineering cadets.

Museum

the museum

It shows the engine and engines models for cadets to understand many theories that they learned in class. Most engines in the museum are from a ship that was de-commissioned and a lot of models were made for the cadets' education.

Classroom

classroom

It is the major classroom. This room we use to study all subjects especially engineering subjects .There are some labs in this class and equipment that teachers use to teach are projector computer and white board. We are comfortable, the chairs are very soft and the room is air-conditioned. We feel like home when we use this room. If we don't  have class we can rest in this room or use our computer notebooks here and we can invite cadet friends.
